Re: Remembering RFK
Bob wrote:Yes...very good. Last night I watched a show on History International called LBJ and the Kennedys: Chasing the Demons. I believe that was the title. Great program that had lots of taped LBJ and RFK phone calls and other sorts of stuff (like LBJ flirting with the widow Jackie Kennedy on the...

Re: Marion Baker And His Encounter With Oswald
Confusing's right! I just don't know what to think about Oswald. I think most people here think he was completely innocent but I've been more inclined to think he was involved, but thought he had a much more important part than he really did. That's how I read his claim to be a 'patsy': not as in 'I...

Re: 14 Minute Gap
I believe JFK also had his office bugged: if he wanted a particular conversation recorded he'd press a buzzer to alert Mrs Lincoln to do the biz. And poor grieving Bobby had to spend the day after JFK's murder making sure it was all dismantled.Just something presidents did to CTAs, I reckon.

Re: Jim Garrison Interview
I've finished part 1 now (I'm an old bird, and reading on-line just doesn't come naturally to me, so I had to wait till I was back at work to print it out. Ah! luvly; some proper paper to read ).Have to agree with ThomZajac's comment: "It's mind boggling to me how good a handle he had on the as...

Re: Jim Garrison Interview
Thanks for that link, ThomZajac. I've only read the first few pages of part 1 so far, but already Garrison comes across as a highly intelligent, articulate man, and I'm looking forward to reading the rest.

Re: Can someone explain how American politics works...
Thanks Bob, that's cleared up a couple of things I wondered about. But, despite my flippancy (and maybe TMI about Australian politics ) in the original post, I really would like to know more about how it works over there, if anyone has a few minutes to explain it to me.- I understand that the VP take...

Can someone explain how American politics works...
...to an ignorant Aussie? It seems from what I've read while finding out about Kennedy that the political system there is different from the way it is here, and I can't quite figure out how it works. Here in Oz there are two major parties, same as in America - ours are Liberal and Labor: yours are R...
