Personally I think that abortion is a right people ought to have. I have three kids and 6 grandchildren, and would not have wanted my wife to have an abortion unless there was a good reason for it (eg. rape, unviable fetus, unviable health of mother). However I do know several people who elected to have an abortion for economic reasons and I don't judge them. I think it is their right to choose. I don't buy the abortion is murder argument, and it seems especially hypocritical from people who support wars fought for economic reasons, which actually are murder, pure and simple. And no one, except the Chinese Communist governemnt has ever mandated abortion, while the majority of countries around the world offer it as an option.I also believe there is nothing wrong with the American brand of socialism which does include SS, Medicare, Medicaid, public schools, welfare, previously nearly free public colleges (as a California resident I attended UC Berkeley and UCLA for $300 a semester in the 1960's, the same tuition only is $13,500 a semester today, or 45x higher), etc. Those who use socialism as a dirty word, as if it was equivalent to the Bolshevik revolution of 1917, and liberal as a dirty word, can claim Bernie is nuts, but I think most of the Democratic candidates make good points. The question really is, which one can actually turn those points into laws for the betterment of the country, rather than just creating sound bytes on TV, like Obama did, then fail to enact most of what was promised. And of course the larger question remains, does the POTUS have any real power at all, or is he or she just following orders?

Mr. Bob Spez, Excellent Academic Argumentative Position Taking Discussion. Bob I eventually read everyone's contributions. I always look forward to yours.

I often don't respond so it doesn't look like I am hogging the discussions.

I review Extreme Right to Extreme Left. I like to know what is "floating" around out there in The Mental Clouds as I call them.

I also like Planting Seeds for Academic Arguments and Discussion. I agree with you on at least 80% of your points.

I plead guilty to sometimes playing Devil's Advocate to stimulate healthy discussion. Sometimes it draws criticism, but I am not that thin skinned that I get overly upset. Your last paragraph and positions were extremely well thought out, and supported by very sound connective reasoning supported by reality.

As always, I strongly recommend that you first read, research, and study material completely yourselfabout a Subject Matter, and then formulate your own Opinions and Theories.
