Thanks my friend. Vince is an easy subject to write about...http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PtY8x9PoTXcI also saw this story yesterday...http://www.greenbaypressgazette.com/art ... -filmJerry Kramer is the one truly deserving player from the Lombardi era Packers that was been left out of the Pro Football Hall of Fame. In fact, I saw a program on the NFL Network the other night that talked about 10 players not in the Hall of Fame, but should be. Kramer was #1. I also wrote about Kramer many times. Here is my most recent story, which ended up on the Hall of Fame website, the Van Heusen/J.C. Penney Fan’s Choice.http://packerchatters.com/?p=6812

Hey do you think there is an over saturation of NFL preseason and proper.I looked at the schedule for the Packers (who since knowing have been displaced Miami as my fave team) Holy cow, thats a lot of games. In NZ theres almost to much rugby for our top tier players its entertainment but we're talking about big guys getting hit by Minis every week. Dunno. But it kinda takes away from the spectacle of a big clash. Whats your take? In fact I have a few questions.Furthermore, yeah in NZ I'd heard Lombardi was a legend. Was it him that said a champion team will always beat a team of champions? Great quote. I also like his angle that a team is only as strong as its weakest link. You should look at Bob Shankley of Liverpool he was an out n out Socialist that turned the pool into champions. A lot of managers seem to be more or less liberal in the sports arena. Is that your observation?

You should look at Bob Shankley of Liverpool he was an out n out Socialist that turned the pool into champions. A lot of managers seem to be more or less liberal in the sports arena. Is that your observation? In terms of the NFL, the year is a long one, with maybe a month or so to take time off for both players and coaches (a couple of months for the players), before the grind begins again. It isn't just the preseason, regular season and postseason, as there are minicamps, organized team activities, training camp etc. now. There is also talk of making the season longer, going from 16 games to 18 games, but I just see that is a negotiating ploy, as the owners and players association work on a new collective bargaining agreement. People bitch about the preseason being too long, but it gives the coaches a chance to look at the rookies and street free agents that are trying to make a team.Bottom line, I like it just the way it is.Lombardi was a man who was ahead of his time. He was very stern, but also very caring. As was someone like John Wooden. Some coaches are liberal socially, but a lot are fairly conservative. With Lombardi, he may have had views that were liberal to some, but he pretty much kept those views to himself and his team. He did not wear them on his sleeve or allow the media to get wind of those opinions. Lombardi had strict rules like all coaches, but he knew when and how to push the right buttons with his players. Every player was different. In terms of quotes from Vince, here is a page of his most famous ones...http://www.vincelombardi.com/quotes.html
