Russ Baker writes about this quite a bit in Family of Secrets, as Baker writes about Poppy Bush's good friend Jack Crichton, who was connected to the military intelligence figures who led the Kennedy motorcade in Dallas.Crichton, like Bush, was also a recruiter for Operation 40, the assassination group put together to kill Fidel Castro, but then who was used to instead kill JFK.Crichton was also connected to George de Mohrenshildt through oil business dealings.In addition, Crichton was also very close to two of the heavyweights in Dallas. I'm talking about Clint Murchinson, owner of the Dallas Cowboys and also the king of the oil depletion allowance and D. Harold Byrd, the owner of the Texas School Book Depository building.During World War II, Crichton was in the OSS, the predecessor to the CIA.In 1964, Crichton ran to become Governor of Texas, while Poppy ran to become a Senator for the state. Both lost.
