Both are legends. By the way, I'm sure Joe would have preferred a clip from Hoosiers.

HAY BOB!Speaking of "Hoosier"s, along with "Breaking Away" are my fovorite movies. The Gymnasium at Oolitic the town I lived in was used for several of the ballgames. They came in and remodeled it as it had not been used for several years. My kids went to school there and played in that old 50's style gym.In The first game Hickory played Oolitic my home town,Some of the teams they played were real places and some not.The story wass a combination of Bobby Knight as coach and a small 1954 school in north central indiana that were state Champs "Milan"http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1954_Milan ... amBreaking Away was filmed in and near Bloomington and the countryside in our area.I like to watch it and remember being there way back then. One of the houses they used was John Cougar Mellencamp's.

hay a little more trivia then I will quit.in the Indiana 1954 semi-state finals Milan played and defeated "Chrispus Attucks" an all black high school in Indianoplis andone of the players on C.A was Oscar Robertson. One other note in history was the county seat Bedford built a new Gym in the 1920's or 30's?the very first game played in the then largest high school gyn was Martinsville and a player on theirteam was a fellow named John Wooden.thought you a sports writer might enjoy a little trivia.

John Wooden was the Vince Lombardi of college basketball. What a coach and what a man. Good player at Purdue as well. Oscar Robertson to me, was the MOST complete player in NBA history. The Big O averaged a triple double for a season once. Amazing. Oscar helped bring a NBA champioship to Milwaukee as well, when he team up with one of Wooden's old players from UCLA...Kareem Abdul-Jabbar. Hoosiers is also one of my favorite sports films. Great story. Sort of a David vs. Goliath soap opera in Indiana. And nobody loves hoops more than the people of Indiana.
