Of course it matters, absolutely it matters to get the story right; one man claims to be the shooter behind the fence, others saw two men teams... Those with nothing to gain by telling the truth and a lot to lose are believable. You have to have corroborating witnesses in "the crime of the century". Criminal science, forensics, 101.
