Here's Linda Kasabian star witness who made a deal with the DA...http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Linda_KasabianTaken from above link....Originally, Atkins had been offered a reduced sentence (life imprisonment instead of the death penalty) for her testimony, since she was the first defendant to be arrested, and she had agreed to tell her story at the grand jury hearings. However, Atkins relinquished this chance when she resumed her allegiance to Manson and repudiated all her incriminating statements. Next, the prosecutors turned to Kasabian, who had voluntarily turned herself in to New Hampshire authorities and returned to California. Kasabian was offered immunity from prosecution in exchange for turning state's evidence. There have been reports that Kasabian wanted to tell her story to the prosecutors, with or without any kind of deal, to "get it out of my head", as chief prosecutor Vincent Bugliosi described it, but that her attorney, Gary Fleischman, insisted that she remain silent until the district attorney made an offer of immunity.[9] Kasabian, who was then pregnant with her second child, agreed to the immunity offer.Immunity agreement was seen at the time as a somewhat controversial option for the prosecution for a number of reasons. Some wanted her to be fully prosecuted for the crimes. However, though Kasabian had been an accomplice to the murders (their driver and lookout) and she had not prevented the crimes or contacted the police or the sheriff afterwards, she had not entered either residence and had not physically participated in any of the murders. She had been described as reluctant and extremely upset during the events of both nights,[8] even challenging Manson ("I'm not you, Charlie. I can't kill anyone"[3]), and she was the only member of the group to express remorse and sympathy for the victims. When brought back to the Tate residence to help reconstruct the crime there, Kasabian reportedly suffered an emotional breakdown.[2] The prosecution was relieved to withdraw the deal from Atkins, whose behavior and statements reportedly seemed especially depraved.[9]

He apparently hoped that this stunt would result in a mistrial, which the defense argued for, but lost. Judge Charles H. Older refused to allow the defendants to legally benefit from the antics.[9]

Dallas Tex

Post by Pennyworth »

Born December 2, 1945 (1945-12-02) (age 63)Dallas, Texas I don't know if this is pertinent info, but Tex worked for this company as a baggage handler. This info was omitted elsewhere in bio's.../1935, Braniff became the first airline to fly from Chicago, Illinois, to the U.S.-Mexico border. Paul Braniff left the airline in 1935 to pursue other interests but Tom Braniff retained control of the carrier and hired Charles "Chuck" Beard to run the airline's day-to-day operations. Beard became President and CEO of Braniff in 1954.Over the years, Braniff acquired a number of other airlines, as well as new Douglas DC-2 and Douglas DC-3 aircraft to fuel its expansion. Most of its operational network remained focused on the midwestern north-south portion of the United States. During WWII, the airline leased a portion of its fleet to the United States military, and facilities at Dallas Love Field and throughout the country became training sites for pilots and mechanics. During the 1940s, Braniff was allowed by the Civil Aeronautics Board to serve the Caribbean, Latin America, and South America. These routes were served by the new and improved Douglas DC-6 aircraft.http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Charles_%22Tex%22_Watson

She stated that she had stabbed Tate because she was "sick of listening to her, pleading and begging, begging and pleading". She also denied that Manson had any role in orchestrating the murders.[citation needed] Little credibility was given to Atkins's testimony in general, as it frequently contradicted known facts. Atkins claimed that "(Manson) told us that we were going to have to get on the stand and claim we had deliberately and remorselessly, and with no direction from him at all, committed all the murders ourselves".[18]http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Susan_Atkins

Sgt. O'Neill interviews family member Leslie Van Houten, who at first refuses to discuss Manson or the family. She says that although Manson is in jail, the family will eventually get back together. She claims Manson was not involved in the Tate or LaBianca murders, but she admits that four people from the family are the murderers. 0:41:08 LAPD Issues Warrants for Family Members The LAPD issues warrants for Manson, Patricia Krenwinkel, and Linda Kasabian based on the information leaked by Van Houten and other family members. 0:41:50 Bugliosi Considers Offering Susan Deal Bugliosi and his partners discuss how they will offer Susan Atkins a deal if she agrees to testify against Manson. They say that if she does this, she will not get the death penalty. They also discuss how Krenwinkel's fingerprint was found on Tate's bedroom door. Sharon....

Post by Pennyworth »

Of all the notorious celebrity deaths, suicides, and murders that have occurred throughout the annals of Hollywood history, none was as bizarre and gruesome as the murders that occurred on a warm night during the summer of 1969 in Benedict Canyon, a hilly suburb of L.A. A young, pregnant Sharon Tate and 4 of her houseguests were brutally stabbed and/or shot to death for simply no reason other than being at the wrong place at the wrong time. Even decades after this horrific crime, the mere mention of the murderer's name, Charles Manson, brings blood curdling chills to anyone within earshot.Sharon TateSharon Marie Tate was born in Dallas, Texas, in 1943 to Paul Tate, a Lieutenant Colonel with the U.S Army, and Doris. The oldest of three Tate daughters, Sharon would live in no fewer than six different cities while growing up, as she and her family were constantly transferred about due to her father's military employment. Although she showed early personal aspirations and talents for show biz, her family neither encouraged nor disallowed such participation. http://www.franksreelreviews.com/shortt ... ontate.htm
