I caught that as well. I certainly understand the religious aspect of the delay, but JFK was deader than a door nail as soon as he received the fatal headshots simulatanously. Also, notice that is was that bastard Emory Roberts of the secret service that first delivered the news to LBJ that the mission was accomplished...er...JFK was dead.

i taped this program Sept 18 from the History Channel. i think Johnson was ready to take over completely. Took over AF1 and would not leave Love Field untill he was sworn in as President.Must have been a little traumatic on Jackie being booted to the rear of the planewhile the big celebration was going on in the front of the planeLBJ probably started making changes on the return trip.Joe

Carter repeated the story to Manchester. "There have been many wrong accounts of this." Roberts "did the notifying," he recalled. "He just said, 'Mr. Johnson, the President is dead.'"How could Johnson have been mistaken about such important details? It's possible given the extraordinary pressure he was under that he simply misremembered the sequences of events.Johnson "misremembered"?"extraordinary pressure"?How about, he lied, having known for weeks.See also, Agricultural Agent Commits Suicide by Rifle X5.

I'll bet the spiritual world is having a pretty good debate right now about the events of 11/22/1963.I hope JFK is having the last laugh!
