Dear Global Forum Members and Readers:

THE MAN WO KEPT THE SECRETS: RICHARD HELMS AND THE CIA, 1979 by Thomas Powers.

"Maybe the best singular history of the CIA to appear so far."
Baltimore Sun.

*"A book the CIA could not suppress, this explicit history of America's most secret service examines."
*"How the White House plumbers got their spook equipment."
*"The penetration of the CIA by foreign powers."
*"The Eisenhower, Kennedy and the Castro assassination plots."
*"Can the CIA create its own foreign policy ?"
*"Does the CIA Covertly indulge in routine homicide ?"
*"Does the CIA favor and support right-wing foreign dictators ?"
*"Is international intelligence one of the fatal facts of modern life ?"
*"Is the CIA our good and faithful servant or the enemy within ?"

"The finest book I have yet to read on the CIA. A masterful portrait of an agency...its managers, the
governments they served."
Washington Post Book World.

My Commentary:

Time marches on and waits for no man. Today obtaining old CIA accurate, believable, complete, non
redacted documents, files, proof, and notes is beyond impossible.

This book was researched and written while there was many hot irons and smoking guns.

It is an intellectual masterpiece, well documented, and well written

thoughts...
best...
