Kevin Bacon's character was a composite of several people that knew Clay Shaw and David Ferrie.Exactly.This is where people who oppose the movie JFK say that it didn't represent the truth. That's when I remind them that it was not a documentary. It's a MOVIE!!! Besides that, was the misrepresentation of facts material or pertinent to what happened to JFK and Oswald? Nope.

I would say that the question "How much info in the JFK movie was bogus?" should always go together with the question "How much info in the JFK movie was true?" and as far as I know the true part outscaled the error part 100 to 1 in the JFK movie.

No problem Sara. Actually, I loved the performance of Kevin Bacon as Willie O'Keefe in the movie. There were so many great performances, by well known actors, and some not so well known. I also thought Kevin Costner, Jack Lemmon, Walter Matthau, Donald Sutherland, Ed Asner, Joe Pesci, Tommy Lee Jones, John Candy, Sissy Spacek, Gary Oldman, Jay Sanders, Brian Doyle-Murray, Michael Rooker, Laurie Metcalf, plus many others were all great as well. Jim Garrison had a cameo as well as he played Chief Justice Earl Warren. I thought overall the movie was a masterpiece, especially knowing that the movie was made in 1991, before a lot of other facts had come out.Speaking of Bacon as Willie O'Keefe, here is a behind the scenes look at Oliver Stone, Kevin Costner, Michael Rooker and Bacon at the scene filmed at Angola prison...http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2qJkrnPtHDU

the true brilliance of this movie was the way stone interweaved facts that made an informative enjoyable movie for all. the purpose was to raise enough eyebrows that if one was so inclined, they would be inspired to investigate further. if he would have tried to tie in the bushes or other living politicians, he would have subjected the movie to lawsuits and credibility issues for the average american unbelieving in conspiracy tales. instead he played just outside the boundaries to instill interest without directly implicating anyone still alive. he kept it alive for a new generation of researchers.namaste'
