What would happen to an inmate?

Post by dankbaar »

What would happen to an inmate in of the hardest maximum security prisons of America, if the inmate made up a phoney story about killing JFK? Would he gain respect from his fellow inmates and the guards? Or would he not survive very long, be harrassed, lambasted and raped? Wim

Wim,I think it would all depend on the circumstances. If he was believed and if he was liked to begin with, and/or protected inside. I guess it would depend on the man or person in the end. I imagine Mr. Files and Mr. Harrelson probably know.Kirk

Kirk, first of all, Harrelson is dead now. His son Woody is sitting on his unpublished manuscript. Even the warden of that time, Tony Godinez,, now the warden of the even bigger Cook county jail, believes the story of James FIles and so do virtually all of the guards there. They told me so during the entrance check, when I visited there in 2003 to interview Jimmy. They all know that James was a ruthless and able contract killer for Sam Giancana and Charles Nicoletti, and THAT's why , along with the details of his testimony, they know his story is true! That's why he is respected within that prison. http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid ... 328587#Wim

Wim,Understood, and of course you know more then I. I was just answering your rhetorical question from my point of view. Harrelson though dead did get the treatment whether he is as believable as Files is another question all together. What little I know about being behind bars is that your word is the most important thing you have, and respect is based on that.KIrk

I know nothing about being behind bars other than what I see on TV. ie Shawshank Redemption ect.one thing I have wondered about was what I would call "Special Treatment" for Jimmybeing given time for all these special interviews. is that normal?

It is not only normal, it is obligatory to grant media time. Not so much for the prsioners, but for the media.Have you never seen the doc series: America's hardest prisons? One episode is about Stateville. There was also a series called: Lock up. Jimmy was in it. Nothing about JFK, he just commented about life in prison.Wim

I've never met Jimmy, but having communicated with Bruce (Jimmy's best friend) on several occasions and with Wim, there is no doubt that Jimmy is one tough hombre. I can only imagine prison life, but without respect behind those walls and bars, life would be almost unbearable. As Wim says, Jimmy has that respect.

i like the picture of Jimmy and his friend at what looks like a wedding. He might be upper 30's lower 40'sJimmy has a devilish look on his face, almost a smirk.don't give a shit kinda guy, loyal to his friends, deadly to their enemies.I don't understand the psychi of someone who does things knowing they are going to end up in the slammer or dead. Are they thrill seekers, whatmaybe any of us could be like this depending on events, or lack of in our lives. We are all different but still a lot alike.
