48 years ago today JFK drove through Tampa in his limo, just four days before Dallas. The biggest difference between Tampa and Dallas? In Tampa, two Secret Service agents were allowed to stand behind the limo as it was traveling though the Cigar City. A good friend of mine also informed me that the You Tube video that I'm sending along was mostly taken at the International Inn in the Westshore area of Tampa. That hotel was torn down in the early 80s to make way for a large office and hotel complex which stands there today. Ironically, the International Inn was a favorite of Santos Trafficante, Jr, where he often met with such notables as Sam Giancana and Jimmy Hoffa, when they were in town. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9O7layB-xE4
