As night began to fall on Dealey Plaza 11/22/63, although we were unaware of it, we were being divided into two camps. Conspiracy theorists and conspiracy perpetrators, their apologists and minions. On Saturday at 10:01AM in a phone conversation with President Lyndon Johnson, FBI director J. Edgar Hoover presented LBJ with evidence from Mexico City of either a Cuban-Soviet plot with Oswald to kill Kennedy or more likely the CIA’s impersonation of Oswald in its own plot. Johnson decided to reject the Agency’s doctored Mexico City evidence of a Soviet conspiracy. He was intensely aware of the pressures for war that the disclosure of a Communist conspiracy to murder Kennedy would bring. Our only remaining knowledge of the phone call comes from an alleged transcript of the tape which was recorded in LBJ’s vice presidential office. The conversation was on a tape by itself and was wiped clean. Whatever plans were actually formulated that morning must forever be relegated to deduction through analysis of what took place in the succeeding 30, 60, and 90 days. Obviously to conceal obstruction of justice in a capital crime would be the most logical motive to explain the tape erasure. Fully aware of the likelihood of CIA collusion in the assassination, Johnson made a momentous decision to cover it up. He directed that the “investigation” should incriminate LHO to the exclusion of any other suspects. This initiated the cover-up directed by the “elected by assassination” government. The cover-up directed by the quasi shadow government in control of strategic domestic and foreign policy decisions was initiated within minutes after the reports of the rifle shots faded into the ensuing background of confusion, grief and indignation. Even before the rifles were fired there were operatives on the scene aiding, abetting and gearing up to incriminate Oswald. There were three teams of shooters with Secret Service badges. There were personnel tasked with implementing their escape. There were others coordinating with local officials; still others working with government Bureaus, Services and local thugs to identify, intimidate and coerce uncooperative witnesses. There was someone spreading around cash, a lot of cash. There was a group of experienced professionals planning and coordinating the Executive Action operation. It definitely had a distinctively third world flavor, reminiscent of past successes. All this before Johnson ordered Hoover to implement the cover-up on 11/23/63. Neither Castro, the Russians, the Mafia, the rich ultra-conservative Texas oilmen, nor the anti-Castro Cubans had these capabilities. Another factor we have to understand if we are truly searching for resolution is that this operation was a colossal cock up starting at the Stemmons Freeway sign. The agency is involved in perpetrating clandestine operations. The agency is all too often engaged in cover-ups and they are good at it, they’ve had a lot of practice. Cover-ups are frequently undertaken to shield upper level personnel from the screw ups of lower level operatives. Truly there was only one audible gunshot that was planned to echo across Dealey Plaza on that fateful Friday afternoon in Dallas. The backup plan called for a second audible gunshot from the Depository. But the final contingency, a blatantly detectable last ditch shot from another direction to salvage catastrophe. Hardly a clandestine operation. The alleged Assassin was never, ever to have been arrested, never to have been interviewed by the Dallas PD, nor to appear before media cameras and claim he was an innocent patsy. Being whacked by a mob hood on a live television feed was yet another last ditch effort to salvage the operation from impending catastrophe. And yet it happened. Please tell me, who the hell can get away with such a blatant display of third world social engineering and then demand everyone to accept their surrealistic scenario as being just another day at the office?JFK Beyond the Usual Suspects Amazon e-book
