Josefa, Lydon's younger sister, took a keen interest in politics and helped her brother in his "successful" 1948 senatorial campaign that also included the Box 13 scandal. Josefa was an alcoholic/drug abuser and was admitted to hospital several times with health problems.John Kinser was a pro golfer who was having an affair with Malcolm Wallace's wife and Josefa. October 22nd, 1951, Wallace shot Kinser in his golf club. a customer managed to get the license plate number of the car driving away from the shooting. shortly after, Wallace was arrested. February 1st, 1952, he resigned from his government job in order to distance himself from Lyndon. His trial began seventeen days later. Wallace did not testify. Cofer (Lyndon's lawyer) admitted his client's guilt but claimed it was an act of revenge as Kinser had been sleeping with Wallace's wife. during the 10 day trial, Lyndon took a room near the courthouse. he had runners to keep him updated on the testimony and proceedings. The jury found Wallace guilty of "murder with malice afore-thought". Eleven of the jurors were for the death penalty. The twelfth argued for life imprisonment. Judge Charles O. Betts overruled the jury and announced a sentence of five years imprisonment. He suspended the sentence and Wallace was immediately freed.the real truth to the murder was that Josefa had told Kinser some information that could have ruined Lyndon's political career. as time went by, her drug addiction, drinking and insider knowledge made her increasingly dangerous to her brother.December 25, 1961, LBJ's sister, Josefa Johnson, was found dead in bed at her Fredericksburg, Texas home at 3:15 am. The cause of death was stated to be a brain hemorrhage. she had returned home at 11:45 pm from a Christmas party at Lyndon's ranch. There was no autopsy and no inquest; the death certificate was executed by a doctor who was not present to examine the deceased. she was embalmed on Christmas Day and buried on December 26th. Ho Ho Ho! from the Johnson's!!!

Mac Wallace....Lyndon's hit man...who knows...maybe this is one of the incidents that kept Wallace in Johnson's pocket.

I believe Wallace was involved in the JFK assassination as well (his fingerprints were found on the 6th floor of the TSBD), but I don't believe he was a shooter. I think he was on the 6th floor of the TSBD to help frame Oswald and set up the sniper's nest. Wallace was a CLOSE range type of assassin or killer anyway. But he definitely killed a lot of people that could have hurt LBJ in some political or criminal way, that's for sure...no matter the bloodline.

interesting point. did they say he was babbling bull 'cause he was trying to tell? two days before Lyndon's death, Nixon took the oath of office for his second term as President.3:50 P.M., while in his bedroom for his regular afternoon nap, Lyndon called the ranch switchboard and asked for Mike Howard, the head of his SS detail, who was out in a car. Bill Morrow, the switchboard operator, tried to call Howard and other agents. the first agents he reached were Ed Nowland and Harry Harris. They raced to the bedroom with a portable oxygen unit. They found him lying beside his bed. They said later he had already turned dark blue and appeared to be dead.they tried to revive him. Mr. Nowland administered mouth-to-mouth resuscitation. two physicians were telephoned, Col. George McGranahan of Brooke Hospital and Dr. David J. Abbott of nearby Johnson City. i wonder if anyone smelled almonds?the autopsy performed by Col. L. R. Hieger, chief of pathology at Brooke General Hospital showed that Lyndon had been suffering from severe coronary artery disease. Two of three major arteries supplying the heart were completely occluded, Hieger said, and the third artery was 60 percent occluded. Further evaluation will be made later, he said.at a news briefing tonight Tom Johnson said Mrs. Johnson had told him that the former President's health had not altered recently, although she mentioned that he had been quieter than usual.Last Saturday,Lyndon went to Ranch Road 1, which runs across the Pedernales River from the Ranch, and planted a redbud tree, a Texas tree that blooms with red flowers. The tree was the first of 100 to be planted along the road.
