I think I bought the Files video from Wim. I can't make up my mind entirely about Files. And I really haven't read enough or reviewed the film enough times to make up my mind one way or the other. I'm still trying to identify Files in Phillips' books -- see the "OPERATION ZIPPER" thread. He seems more inclined to identify people at the same level or above, rather than point to people with fingers on the trigger as we actually know or suspect them.There are some who insist that a witness behind bars has less reliability. This logic was also applied to whatever E. Howard Hunt may have said -- either way. Since he was in jail, his testimony is unreliable -- so the argument goes. Those sorts of arguments may hold true in the courtroom, but we're not in a courtroom. Even so, here's something I'll comment on from the critic's web-site:STATEMENT 3Files claims he was recruited for CIA operations in April 1961 by David Atlee Phillips.THE TRUTH:In 1961 Phillips was Chief of Covert Action in Mexico City and additionally ran the CIA's "propaganda shop." He had nothing to do with CIA recruitment. These statements are inaccurate and absurd. They apply the measuring stick of "career recruitment" -- regular government employment of CIA personnel. Everyone knows that there were legions of "assets" who were paid out of pocket or under the table. Phillips had access to large sums of cash, and most certainly dribbled a few dollars here and a few dollars there to Oswald and several others.And he didn't "run" the propaganda shop. He was in the Western Hemisphere division, and ran propaganda operations from there. This also demonstrates the absurdity of assumptions that propaganda (or psy-war, for that matter) just involves creating and publishing lies and distortions. Nothing farther from the truth.And unless they changed his title, between '61 and '63, Phillips was "Chief of Cuban Operations" at the Mexico City Station. That may have mostly involved "Covert Action," but what else would you call "propaganda and psy-war?"People make these absurd assumptions based on how the world operates in everyday life. Do you think they would have called the "Directorate of Plans" the "Directorate of Covert Operations?" Hell, no. That's like saying that someone like Oswald was a communist because he said so, or that a CIA man would walk down a Moscow street and introduce himself by saying "Hi! I'm a spy for the CIA!"I'll agree with Gore Vidal: I live in a country where 50% of the public are idiots. Do you want me to show you empirical evidence for that remark?

I was also offended by the lies and misrepresentations in that "mosaic" article. Why was I not surprised to find Dave Perry's name attached to it? Gives one a pretty good idea as to who's behind this. We all Know the list of names. .

YEARS ago i operated a used car lot. i hired a friend's son to operate it after i was open about 1year. after 2 weeks, he had stolen about 6 thousand dollars from me. i shut the lot down. he found an attorney to sue me for 100 grand stating that i wronged him and that it was his lot. i got an attorney because i couldn't believe the whole thing. after court delays for 1 year and about 10 grand in attorneys fees, they finally offered to settle for 10 grand. my attorney told me to accept because his bill kept getting larger and who knows when it would end. i told him hell no, i wouldn't pay a dime. he said offer them something, thats all they want. the attorneys took it on contingency and wanted to get paid. i held out for principle. after another 6 months and 20 grand in all for my attorney, they dropped the charges. i could have offered then 5 grand early but in my mind, i was happy to pay my attorney 20 grand as long as that snake never got a dime.wim, only you know if you are in a position to fight this and come out alright but if you can afford it, stick to principle. too often nowadays, justice is too costly to get for the average man.

Wim I need to make one more entry on this subject.I woke up this morning running this through my mind.Looking at it from a different angle I see that a good case can be made for removing the J. Bartell page.Mainly it does nothing to enhance or improve the JFKMS web site.It comes off looking like a Pissin' contest to the average reader.Also it is providing him with more free advertising than you are getting from him.My opinion: Take the page off.Don't say anything to J Bartell about it and see how long it takes him to adjustAs long as you are featured on his web site you are being advertised free of charge.most likely he has no major traffic on that site anyway.
