I've looked at this as a two-part victory.Posner--whom I've considered suitable substitute for Syrup of Ipecac--acknowledges two things about Mark Lane:1) Lane is killer at what he does;2) Lane has the professional integrity and respect for law and free speech to take the case.Lane--whom I've considered bold, perceptive, heroic since Rush to Judgment and Plausible Denial--proves the above in an amplified fashion:Although Kagan says law does not protect the despised, that is precisely what Lane has done for forty-seven years--nobody has been more despised than Lee Harvey Oswald.That Lane has brought the case this far indicates he is at the top of the game of presenting persuasive evidence in an adversarial arena.That Lane took the case shows he lives the Kennedy ethos--Kennedy sought detente with Khruschev rather than nuclear annihilation.That Lane defends Posner shows the former lives the Voltaire assertion, "I disagree with what you say but I defend to the death your right to say it."And in sum, Lane presents as the triumphant gladiator who lifts his defeated rival from the dust of the arena and pleads for the latter's life before the emperor.Lane is the better man. He wears the armor of the truth and carries the sword of the truth.Hence he could have slain the beast but magnanimously releases it to the wild.Posner cannot be accurately described in language as befits a family-friendly forum. Hence I have chosen to refer to him as the "beast"--for which I apologize to all beasts.

Phil I hear what you are saying and it is so.however what comes to mind after giving it some thoughit seems to me this would be a conflict of interest on Marks part and he should disqualify himself.Posner deserves good representation but both are outspoken authors on opposite ends of the assassination spectrum.what do you think?
