Post by Bruce Patrick Brychek »

Dear Mr. Wim Dankbaar, and Fellow JFK Forum Members:08.06.2010, Thursday, Christina Romer announced her resignation as the Chairwoman of the President's Council of Economic Advisors.07.30.2010, Friday, Peter Orzag stepped down as the Director of the Office of Management and Budget.Did matters just get better, or worse ?Are we in a full blown Depression, worse than 1929, and not only getting worse, but spiraling totally out of control ?What will Obama be forced to do with current U.S. War Policies, and Programs ?Does Obama have any idea of what to do ?Does Obama have any ability to do anything ?Comments ?Respectfully,Bruce Patrick Brychek.

“The economics team in the Obama administration is in a difficult spot, and losing another person is a little bit worrisome,” said Julia Coronado, senior U.S. economist at BNP Paribas in New York and a former Fed staffer in Washington. “The team hasn’t been very vocal in discussing what should be done in light of recent weakness in the economy, and in taking a forceful stand.”Rash of Suicides in China where Apple Products are Producedhttp://abcnews.go.com/Technology/string-suicides-apple-manufacturer-china/story?id=10789704The recent decision by Washington to drop sanctions against Russian arms exporters could aid the Pentagon’s efforts to equip forces in Afghanistan, Iraq, and Pakistan. According to the Wall Street Journal, Russian-made Mi-17 helicopters offer “versatile” and “easy to maintain” transport aircraft, and have been identified as the most cost-effective option for arming forces to combat insurgents in remote regions. Recognition of this fact has led the Pentagon in recent years to buy armaments from Russia and the former Soviet states. But criticism in Congress has grown of late, as lawmakers challenge the decision to forego U.S.-made alternatives. The U.S. military maintains, however, that the lengthy production time necessary to introduce American-made aircraft makes older, readily available post-Soviet alternatives attractive. “I would love to transition to all-Western [aircraft],” stated the General in charge of strengthening Afghanistan’s air forces. “But the fact remains I need to make decisions based on what’s best for the Afghans.”The economic outlook for Oceania, Eurasia, and Eastasia is a glorious blossom, comrades.
