The people have spoken

Post by Bob »

Yesterday the people of the United States sent a message to the world and to Dumbya Bu$h that his policies are flawed and corrupt. We never should have had this court jester as our leader if not for the help of the right leaning Supreme Court and election fraud in 2000, 2002, and 2004. The fraud was attempted again this time with Diebold voting machines still being hackable and malfunctioning. The Rethugs also were still trying to disinfranchise voters by harrassing them with threatening phone calls and other SS tactics. But through it all, America spoke volumes with the results of the election. The Democrats now control the House and most likely the Senate. Bu$h's next two years in office will be pure hell for him and his fascist band of traitors. There will be investigation after investigation looking at the many corrupt decisions made by this blithering idiot. The scandals that will be investigated include the lies about going into Iraq, illegal wiretapping, Plamegate, Abramoff, the removal of habeas corpus, torture and secret prisons, war profiteering and hopefully more light will be shed about the events of 9/11. Bottom line, this will hopefully expose this Bu$h and all the Bu$hes for what they are...treasonous, war profiteering bastards that don't give a shit about how many die because of their deeds. Look at Iraq...almost 3,000 U.S. dead and over 20,000 seriously wounded. The Iraqis have over 600,000 dead according to some recent reports. But Bu$h says stay the course. Why? Because the Halliburtons, Carlyle Groups and Bechtels of the world get richer every day. So do the Exxons and Chevrons of the world. What industries were Bu$h, Cheney and Rumsfeld connected to before they took office? The answer proves my theory is correct. Thank God the tide is finally starting to turn.

This is what Bu$h has waiting for him with a Democratic Congress per Wayne Madsen...

November 8, 2006 -- Although President Bush says he wants to reach out to the Democratic Congress, don't look for him to stop using the common GOP pejorative term "Democ-rat" -- with an emphasis on "rat" -- anytime soon. The GOP strategy is shaping up to blaming the new Democratic Congress for present foreign and domestic ills even before it is sworn in.

Bush is in denial about losing his longtime rubber stamp Congress. His first shock treatment will come from House and Senate chairmen who have been stonewalled on everything from investigating pre-war intelligence and Pentagon contract fraud to torture and rendition flights. There are countless other investigations that were blocked by the congressional GOP leadership.

John Conyers (D-MI) becomes chairman of the powerful House Judiciary Committee. His portfolio to investigate election fraud and Patriot Act abuses may result in possible impeachment articles being put forward.

John Dingell (D-MI) becomes chairman of the House Commerce Committee. His committee has oversight for energy (Cheney's secret energy task force is under the gun), telecommunications (media consolidation issues could be on the table), consumer protection, and public health.

Barney Frank (D-MA) becomes chairman of the House Financial Services Committee. Minimum wage increase on the agenda.

Charlie Rangel (D-NY) becomes chairman of the House Ways and Means Committee. Rolling back tax cuts for billionaires as well as corporate offshore tax havens will be on the agenda.

Henry Waxman (D-CA) becomes chairman of the House Government Reform Committee. He will exercise subpoena power to bring witnesses (friendly and hostile) before his committee to investigate Pentagon contract fraud (watch out Halliburton and KBR).

Ike Skelton (D-MO) becomes chairman of the House Armed Services Committee. Will also investigate Pentagon contract fraud.

Alcee Hastings (D-FL) may become chairman of the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence. Look for real fireworks here with former members of the US Intelligence Community being called to testify on pre-war intelligence cooking.

Neo-conservative ally Tom Lantos is slated to take over the House International Relations Committee. This is the only committee where the Bush administration will have anything close to a safe haven. Lantos was a supporter of the Iraq war.

In the Senate, the Judiciary Committee under the chairmanship of Patrick Leahy will be able to bottle up any right-wing nominations to the Supreme Court, if any should arise. Bush will be forced to submit the names of moderate consensus judges.

Joe Biden will become Chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, where Iraq will be at the top of the agenda.

Jeff Bingaman becomes Chairman of the Senate Committee on Energy and Natural Resources, where gasoline price gouging and Interior Department scandals will feature prominently.

Jay Rockefeller becomes Chairman of the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence with subpoena power on pre-war intelligence cooking. Pat Roberts, who has stonewalled for the White House, will be relegated to ranking member.

Carl Levin becomes Chairman of the Senate Armed Services Committee.

Max Baucus becomes Chairman of the powerful Senate Finance Committee.

Robert Byrd takes over as Chairman of the powerful Senate Appropriations Committee, Byrd also becomes President pro tem of the Senate, fourth in line for the White House after Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Vice President Dick Cheney.

Did you notice that Don Rumsfeld resigned today. Guess who his handpicked puppet...er...successor will be? Long time Bu$h friend Robert Gates, former CIA director under Bu$h 41 and another Iran/Contra rascal. Here is more about him from Larry Johnson, formerly of the CIA...

Bob Gates, He's Back
by
Larry C Johnson

Before the media goes overboard extolling the virtues of Bob Gates as the replacement for Don Rumsfeld, it is important to look back at Gates' record and reputation. Gates has some "splaining" to do. The press has forgotten that Bob Gates, during his time at CIA, acquired a reputation for trying to tailor intelligence to satisfy political masters in the Reagan White House. In addition, Bob Gates, a man of enormous intellect and a photographic memory, conveniently forgot salient facts and meetings surrounding the Iran Contra scandal.

The doubts about Gates surfaced during confirmation hearings held in the fall of 1991 to consider his nomination to become the Director of CIA. Irionically, the questions then are still relevant today. Several analysts came out publically against Gates. These included Melvin Goodman and Harold Ford. A New York Times piece by Elaine Sciolino captured the mood of the 1991 hearings:

Three witnesses testified that Mr. Gates slanted intelligence analysis as a senior agency official in the 1980's, while two others defended him. . . .Mr. Gates's detractors assert that the slanting of intelligence was largely confined to issues involving the Soviet Union, Soviet expansionism and C.I.A. covert operations. . . .

The most dramatic testimony came from Melvin A. Goodman, a former division chief in Soviet affairs. He accused Mr. Gates of imposing his political judgments on intelligence analyses without any evidence to back his views, of suppressing his analysts' conclusions, of corrupting the agency's stringent analytical process and of misusing personnel -- "judge shopping the courthouse," Mr. Goodman called it -- until the desired analysis was produced.

But the more reflective testimony of another witness, Harold Ford, although less explosive than Mr. Goodman's, could carry more weight with the committee. Mr. Ford, a 30-year veteran of the agency who has extensively written and lectured on ethics in public policy, described his personal agony before deciding that out of loyalty to the agency, he could not support the nominee. Adding to the difficulty of his choice, Mr. Ford is a C.I.A. contract employee who would report to Mr. Gates, if he is confirmed.

One of the analysts who spoke in favor of Gates was Lawrence Gershwin. Gershwin, the national intelligence officer for strategic programs, subsequently played a critical role in drafting and promoting the flawed October 2002 National Intelligence Estimate on Iraq.

Mel's experience with Gates is consistent with mine. I remember talking to the South African analyst back in 1988, who told me about the time Bob Gates tried to change the lede on an intelligence piece, which argued that Nelson Mandela was NOT a communist. Gates wanted the lede to say that Mandela was a communist. The analyst kicked back hard and ultimately prevailed, but this behavior was consistent with his reputation as a political animal willing to curry favor with the political masters downtown and sacrifice sound analysis.

There is no denying that Bob Gates has a distinguished resume and, by virtue of experience, is as qualified as any to run the Department of Defense. But it is incumbent on Senators during the upcoming confirmation hearings to insist that Gates fully commit to keep his fingers out of cooking intelligence and promise to tell the President uncomfortable truths even if they are politically inconvenient. He had trouble doing that during his tenure at CIA. Hopefully, with the passage of time, he has grown some spine and learned the importance of integrity.

Did you notice that two of the people most responsible for the nightmare known as George "Dumbya" Bu$h were beaten badly in their attempts to run for bigger office. Katherine Harris, who was the Florida Secretary of State and the Bu$h/Cheney chairperson in 2000 was soundly beaten by Bill Nelson as she ran for Senator. We all know Gore beat Bu$h in Florida, but Harris stonewalled long enough to let the right leaning Supreme Court intercede and give the election to "their" boy. Also, Ken Blackwell, who was Ohio Secretary of State and also the Bu$h/Cheney chairman in 2004, was beaten soundly as well in his attempt to be Governor in Ohio. Payback is a bitch! But the real losers were the citizens of the United States and the world as we have had to put up with this imbecilic, incompetent, delusional and treasonous dolt for 6 years and counting.

BUT, watch out! The insidious machinations continue under new/old guises. You know: the good old boys (Baker & Hamilton) are stealthily, silently moving in to put fingers into dike punctures & up the people's nether orifices:WASHINGTON - James Baker, a former U.S. secretary of state and close political associate of the Bush family, said on Sunday there are alternatives in Iraq for the United States other than the 'stay-the-course' policy of President George W. Bush's administration.Baker -- the co-chair of a high-level panel of prominent former officials charged by members of Congress with taking a fresh look at America's policy on Iraq, which has support from the White House -- said it would be a mistake for the United States to withdraw from Iraq over the next year. But, in an interview on ABC's 'This Week,' he added, 'I happen to think, and I think it's fair to say our commission believes, that there are alternatives between the stated alternatives ... of stay-the-course and cut-and-run.'Bush and his top officials say the United States must press on with war in Iraq. They accuse critics, including some Democrats, who call for a U.S. troop pullout or a timetable for withdrawal, of advocating a policy of 'cut-and-run.''I think that if we picked up and left right now that you would see the biggest civil war you've ever seen and every neighboring country would be involved in there doing its own thing,' Baker said.He said the panel, co-chaired by former Democratic Rep. Lee Hamilton, probably would issue its report some time after the November 7 congressional election and hoped to come up with a bipartisan consensus. In response to questions, Baker said the task force was weighing the pros and cons of a number of ideas, including one that would create a new power-sharing arrangement in Iraq that would give more autonomy to regional factions.Baker, a Texan lawyer, served as secretary of state and White House chief of staff for President George H. W. Bush. In 2000, he served as chief legal adviser for George W. Bush's presidential campaign and played a key role in the legal battles over the Florida vote recount that resulted in Bush's victory.

No doubt Jim. The names have changed, but it's still the same organization. Ole man Bu$h is bailing out his stupid and stubborn son by using another old family friend and confidant...James Baker. The bottom line, things will appear from the outside that there is a plan to vacate Iraq, but the reality will be that the Bu$hes and their friends will continue to be war profiteers at the expense of death and destruction. Remember the peace Richard Nixon talked about in 1968 referring to Vietnam? He actually escalated the war and there wasn't a peace treaty until 1973. Meanwhile the U.S. lost most of their war dead during this period and the war profiteers made a killing. Literally!

08.13.2013Dear JFK Murder Solved Forum Members and Readers:11.08.2006 - Mr. Bob Fox Posted this focused Headline.Bob developed an extremely analytical discussion along with the input of Mr. Jim Thompson.
