State Of Denial: Bush At War, Part III, by Bob Woodward, copyright 2006, by Simon & Schuster, Rockefeller Center, 1230 Avenue of the Americas, New York, N.Y. 10020.
First, I would point out the list of other books that Bob Woodward has written. I was very impresssed, and confess that I had heretofore only heard of a few of them. Page 3 of this book has the most complete listing.
Secondly, I received this book for my birthday in September, 2006, and began reading this book several times. As I often do, I was reading 10 - 15 books at the same time, and at the beginning I lost interest in this book, as other research issues, tangents and threads consummed most of my available time.
However, with the elections, Donald Rumsfeld's "resignation," and a flat out civil war that is out of control in Iraq, this book now takes on a stronger meaning for me.
Bob Woodward has amassed a tremendous amout of information, and in the first 100 pages I am mostly interested in Rumsfeld and the poor original and ongoing planning for Iraq.
By the way did you notice that last night in the news it now appears that the US, who wrongly started the Iraq War, may be asking Iran and Syria for help with Iraq ?????
Also, Rumsfeld being brought up on War Crimes charges last week in Germany has additionally sparked my interest in this book.
At times slow and tedious, but nevertheless powerfully written in totality, I would really like to hear anybody's thought on this book.
Respectfully,
Bruce Patrick Brychek.
