Photography question

Post by ThomZajac »

I'm wondering if any of you can help me understand something about the Altgens photo. Is it possible to determine at what speed that photo was taken?I ask because the front left tire of JFK's limo seems to be in perfect focus and it shows no evidence of motion. Obviously if the film was shot at a fast speed this effect would be possible, but I just am not intimate enough with photography to know how likely that might be.I guess my question is: if we know the speed of the shutter, can we determine the speed of the tire rotation and therefore the speed of the car? Or do we have to know the speed of the film as well?

Thom, you are going to need someone that really knows that stuff to help you. Maybe someone like Dr. Emmett Brown, the inventor of the flux capacitor. Seriously, that might be a good question to ask Robert Groden, since photography is his area of expertise, plus he is I'm sure very familiar with that photo.

That is the photo someone here was saying it was wrong? the shadows on the car side show what looks like a house??What do you think. If phoney why?don't seem to be an inportant photo? There is a wider angle version that shows the daltek bulding.I also think this is the picture that Hankey uses to say the glass is broken out?http://jfkmurderphotos.bravehost.com/photos.htmllook at the Altgens pictures.

the fourth car back looks like someone had the rear door open?must be moving pretty slow.If the first shot was fired at this time It was probably from the DalTex building?everyone is looking to the rear, they heard somthing.

It's going down

Through windshield, JFK has hands up clutching throat; Jackie's white-gloved left hand is clutching JFK's left forearm.Fourth car back is LBJ's; SS man has foot down.Best to consult either Robert Groden or Jack White regarding details of photo. One poster here in the last fortnight said this was a composite of four photos. One commentator said the two SS on right-side of car are each doing their standard scan, an overlapping surveillance done by two agents of a single area.

The Towner film might help a little with the estimation of the speed: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M1GTqlR9 ... elatedAlso the Martin Film and the Bronson film.
