Dear Global Forum Members and Readers:
DEEP POLITICS AND THE DEATH OF JFK, 1993 by Peter Dale Scott.
"A book that will become part of our alternate history - to be read and studied by future generations."
Oliver Stone, Director and Producer of the movie JFK.
"{A} staggeringly well-researched and intelligent overview not only of the JFK assassination but also of the forces undermining American
democracy - of which the assassination, Scott says, is symptomatic."
Kirk's Reviews
"The most challenging book of the year."
San Francisco Chronicle
"May well be the most thoughtful and serious-minded of the 2,500 titles on the subject published over the years."
Toronto Star
"From probing the conspicuous deficiencies of the Warren Commission to exploring the skewed priorities of the House Assassination
Committee, Peter Dale Scott offers a trenchant analysis of Govenment's failure to solve the murder of President Kennedy.... No one
provides a broader and more revealing perspective."
Gaeton Fonzi, former investigator, U.S. Senate Committer on Assassinations
"Offers perhaps the most useful synthesis yet of this particular skein of history...Scott's brilliant, meticulously detailed lesson is, in
a way, as much a guide to the current Iraqgate scandal as it is to the assassination."
In These Times
""In his long awaited magnum opus...Scott does not offer a 'who done it.' Instead, he uses the assassination as s point of entry for an
extended tour through little known, long buried, and truly disturbing regions of American politics."
Jonathan Marshall, Tikkun
"Peter Dale Scott is Professor of English at the University of California, Berkeley. His books include COCAINE POLITICS: DRUGS, ARMIES,
and the CIA IN CENTRAL AMERICA (California, 1991), and CRIME and COVER-UP: THE CIA, THE MAFIA, and the DALLAS-WATERGATE
CONNECTION (1977).
My Commentary:
06.02.2026 - A Brilliant book. So much food for thought. It raises far more questions for me than answers for me.
But nothing has changed, been accomplished, or improved in our Democratic Republic as of today.
The bad guys got away with everything from Pearl Harbor, Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia, JFK, MX, MLK, RFK, Waco, the Oklahoma
Bombing, 09.11.2001, etc. Feel free to add your own.
How's Ukraine, Iran, Gaza, the Strait of Hormuz, etc., and today's collapsing American economy for working Americans ?
thoughts...
best...
