American Relations With Cuba

I have tried to understand America's policies toward Cuba in the past and I fully understand their Record on Human Rights and the Threat of Communism in our hemisphere, taking orders form the Mighty Kremlin, Bay of Pigs, Missle crisis and the general overall paranoia that was going on in the country at that time, etc. But what was it about Cuba either as an island (Strategic Location), their political system, or their people that we as Americans and especially the politicians feared and had such an unbending attitude towards. Much of these forums discussions always include Cuba and I feel I must know exactly why the politicians felt such a great threat from Cuba to always give them (Cuba) favor over other issues. It seems that the issue of Cuba always took priority over other issues of the day. Can anyone provide me with insight to these questions? It will make my understading of the JFK Assassination more meaningful.John Jay Boland

Cuba's involvment with the mob, russia, illegal activity in general and the hatered fueled by the lies stemming from the JFK murder was enough for the political powere to treat them like the scurge of the planet. Yet deal with China like they are our best friend. Never quite understood that one. Basically Castro's continued stance of " Kiss my ass!" doesn't help either. lolPeace
