Why was Oswald hostile at the cinema?
Re: Why was Oswald hostile at the cinema?
Also, Oswald thought he had warned the FBI TWICE about an assassination attempt. No heed was taken, and now he had to know he was being set up as the patsy.

I go with Thom on this...I had someone close to me who was beleived to be CIA...he shot up an empty police car to be tossed in jail...he's dead now but,he was released from jail and then moved on to another part of the world for the CIA...I dont recall anything was ever done about his cop car shooting incident...no jail time...no court,nothing...it just disappeared.
Re: Why was Oswald hostile at the cinema?
If I remember correctly, when Oswald got arrested in New Orleans for the staged scuffle, he asked to see a FBI agent (Hosty?) He did meet with an agent but the agent's records of what they discussed were never revealed. Bob probably knows if I got that right. Anyway, to me it's pretty obvious that Oswald was US intelligence since before defecting to the Soviet Union and remained one until the day he died. I also think most people (excepting the insightful souls who frequent this site) don't understand the true nature of intelligence work; namely that the agents are working under 'cover'- they have jobs, and they are told/ordered to do many things often without explanation. A soldier of another sort. Therefore, any agency deciding to set up/sacrifice one of its agents would be able to do so in most cases without much difficulty. Oswald was a good soldier and a good soldier never gives up his cover. Still, I can't help but imagine what would have happened at the press conference had he yelled "The CIA killed the president!" I wish he had.**********************************************************************************************************************************************I also fantasize about the NBC, CBS, ABC, and CNN logos one fine night all over the nation morphing into "CIA."For many who don't believe there was a conspiracy, this is the connection they just cannot make.

bob franklin wrote:according to Judyth Baker, whom I believe, his attitude toward JFK was good. He was trying to prevent the assassination, in fact. Just goes to show how far through the looking glass we get in pursuit of the truth. Not only is Oswald not the villain, bent on murdering the president, he's the hero of the story. bob franklin my friend not only was that very well and nicely said but i agree with you 559%. lee harvey oswald fights for the good ole united states of america and he gets thanked by being set up which is quite sad. i will give LHO my admiration and respect not only my admiration but my respect also he never let the feds break him and they never got a confession from him he protested his innocence to the very end which is very very admirable in my eyes.

One thing that I really can't understand about people saying that Oswald was set up to be the'patsy' is that a patsy is someone who gets caught and blamed for a crime that he didn't commit. If he was a patsy who was set up to be caught and blamed then why was he murdered after he was caught? Can anyone explain this to me?

Yes. Oswald was set up to be the patsy, but the intention was to make him a dead patsy BEFORE he had an opportunity to talk about what he knew- which was a hell of a lot. He was US intelligence, and his (faux) mission had been to infiltrate the assassination plot and to report back to his handlers. When Oswald was arrested rather than killed, this created a TREMENDOUS problem for the planners. You might want to check out the thread "What went wrong" where this is discussed in greater detail. And keep asking questions!

I'll keep! What I don't understand is: why didn't Oswald walk out of TSBD at 12:29 to get an alibi?
Re: Why was Oswald hostile at the cinema?
Can only speculate of course. It does seem that he was likely standing in the TSBD entrance doorway at the time of the shooting for one thing. But my guess is that it probably never occurred to him that he was being set up to be the patsy unti lhe learned he had been charged with the murder. He'd probably quickly come to the realization that his life was in danger because he knew too much, but having the assassination pinned on him was probably not something he ever even considered.Am curious to hear what some of the others think.

Oswald was a CIA operative and a FBI informant. He didn't realize the manipulative scope of the powers that he was part of.

Here's an interesting link about a double arrest at the Texas Theater: http://scribblguy.50megs.com/intrigue.htm#The%20Stage
